I used to be a ballet dancer.
Seriously, I danced with a company for a long time. Then I started doing competitive dancing (which ended badly), then I started teaching kindergarteners at a little private studio, then I just sort of stopped for a while. I've done a few summer workshops, but that's about it.
To be honest, I really miss it. I feel like I'm losing my ability to be graceful. I still have subscriptions to several dance magazines and everytime I'm bored I find myself watching videos from the Vaganova Academy on Youtube. I think I might get back into it again, since I have time now... I don't know.
But every time I start randomly jamming out to a song on the radio, whatever buddy I happen to be hanging out with always gives the same sort of comment: "Wow, I didn't know you could dance"
Well, buddy, I'm starting to doubt that I can.

I can't even remember what production this is from... it was like 2 years ago, and all I remember is that we had to dance with fake candles. Yeah...
In other, slightly more exciting news, I'M GOING TO LONDON TOMORROW! I'm fucking pumped. After a few days in London, we're moving on to PARIS. That's right, hot British boys and hot french boys for me. Yeah, be jealous. Just kidding. I'm jacking my sister's camera (yeah, the 8 year-old got a brand new digital camera for her birthday. Do you know what I got for my 8th birthday? A Harry Potter book and some socks. Fuck my parents. Just kidding..) and you can expect some pretty fantastic pictures.
And if I die or get kidnapped by the French mafia, please know that I love all your faces!

Going back to ballet sounds like it'd be worthwhile. It seems to me that you were exceptionally good at it. You should do it again!
OH MY GOD!!! It's you!!! A young you!!! In a ballerina dress!!!! THIS IS AMAZING!!! You should keep dancing. When in doubt, dance. All problems in life can be solved by dancing. If you like it, why not continue?

I have never been to a ballet but I would love to go see a production. I'm going to try to find one to go to soon.
