Ballad Of The Broke Teenager

I HATE MONEY.
It's official. I simply cannot stand the idea of funds and stocks and capital and economy. I hate this stupid recession we're in because our country thinks its federal taxes should go towards pay increases for college football coaches, and not military or political leaders, or even charities or non-profits. Worst of all, I hate the fucked up job market that is only fucked because companies can no longer afford to pay their current employees, let alone new ones.

As such, it is now mid-July, and I still don't have a summer job!! And it is definitely not for lack of trying, because I have applied to every place I could think of; Starbucks, local restaurants, coffee shops, salons, grocery stores. I mean, this costume managing gig is great, but my superiors decided that due to low funds, it had to remain a volunteer stint.

I'm sick of volunteering!! Volunteering doesn't pay for my burritos!! My savings account has been reduced considerably, and I know I'll build it back up again once I get a job, but no one is hiring!! Gaaaaaah!

I'm broke and tired of being turned down, and I have a car to pay for now. I needs de skrilla... but since I can't get it, I've decided to take the 'mature' route and HATE IT. I hate money!! I hate that things cost money! I hate that burritos cost a lot of money!!

I'm seriously considering becoming a hobo on Pearl Street, and living with the rostas for the rest of my life. It'd be hard, but they don't give a fuck about the stock market.

Would I look good with dreads?

  1. I've been contemplating dreads for a VERY long time. Needless to say, all my friends have been continuously talking me out of them for, I don't know, the past three years?? Haha, as for money hatin' I get where you're coming from. Our current job market sucks, but instead of blaming our sinking currency I'm going to blame our government's inability to make up it's mind on whether it's a free market capitalist system, or a concerned parent.

I'm going to stop myself before I rant about bailouts.

  3. I think you could totally pull off dreads!! I'd love it!

I agree with Bookish.Spazz, as far as the government goes. They suck. In Michigan, teachers are being treated like horrible, greedy monsters, and all their money (and rights!) are basically being taken away. Meanwhile, taxes on cigarettes and booze are being slashed. Crazy greed much??

Sorry...that got out of hand, didn't it?

  5. I know exactly where you're coming from. Whenever I have to sit down and figure out anything at all about money, I have a bad habit of being seized by unexplainable fury and going into a fit. I throw things across the room and tear important papers in half. I foam at the mouth sometimes.

The world would be so much easier without money.
